Here in Jackson, Black Mountain has been welcoming families of downhill skiers for over 60 years. This friendly local resort provides a mixture of terrain for the beginner, intermediate and advanced skier.

Attitash and Bear Peak on Route 302 is the largest resort in the Mount Washington Valley. These two neighbouring mountains offer plenty of challenging terrain for advanced skiers and boarders as well as beginners’ courses and children’s’ programs.

Cranmore Mountain in North Conway provides plenty of fun for all the family from downhill skiing to boarding and tubing. It is recommended for intermediates and beginners.

Out on Route 302, Bretton Woods offers a great variety of trails suitable for beginners and intermediates as well as some more advanced terrain. The scenery is stunning with impressive views of Mount Washington and the Presidentials. There is also more than 100km of trails for classical, skate skiing and snowshoeing.

Just over the border in Maine, you will find Shawnee Peak; this quiet resort offers one of the best night skiing programmes around.

Beyond Jackson on Route 16, Wildcat Mountain has an elevation that ensures the best natural snow locally and generally a long season. Its trails and glades offer amazing views for the more experienced skier and even beginners can take the 3 mile beginner trail from the summit!

As well as offering downhill skiing, skating, Nordic skiing, snow shoeing and a night skiing programme, King Pine Resort in East Madison offers lift serviced tubing down fun and exciting snow chutes at the Pine Meadows Tubing Park.

The Jackson Ski Touring Foundation, 153 Main Street, Jackson maintains 156+ km of cross country ski trails that are considered the finest in the Eastern United States, spanning three river valleys and 60 square miles of White Mountain countryside. Whether you prefer quiet striding through New England forest or all out free technique on international race courses, it’s all here and you can get on a trail right outside the Village House.

Bear Notch Ski Touring on Route 302, Bartlett, is also a full service Nordic and Snowshoe center with 65km of trails. Abundant and picturesque river trails are easily accessible for beginners, while intermediate and advanced skiers enjoy our more challenging terrain on rolling hills winding in and out of the surrounding White Mountain National Forest.

Mount Washington Valley Ski Touring & Snowshoe Centre on Rte 16/302, Intervale - Cross country ski or snowshoe over 65 km of trails, groomed for both classical skiing or skate skiing. Pass through riverside hayfields, mountainside spruce and hemlock forests linking Intervale, Kearsarge, North Conway and Mt. Cranmore.

There are plenty of snow shoeing trails right here in Jackson. Equipment rentals are available from Jackson Cross Country Ski Touring Centre and Nestlenook Farm.

Tubing

Tubing is a great fun activity for all the family to enjoy. Our nearest parks can be found at Cranmore Mountain in North Conway and at Great Glen Trails near Pinkham Notch on Route 16.
